  1. Minus that they went all college last season (in a weird 5 round draft) and took a college arm the year before, I don't see much correlation. Brewers, more than most teams, need to get the BPA and someone that will actually contribute in 4-6 years.
  2. I can't disagree more. Maybe if he is healthy enough to play the win or go home game #7, thats a discussion that can be had. I do not want to risk further injury tomorrow with him on the court when they have 2 games to win 1.
  3. both had 2 bad appearances with the brewers. you are correct Richards hasn't been used in high leverage situations but he has helped right the ship after loosing your 7th inning guy and the guy I thought would take over the 7th has struggled since the trade.
  4. I'm not sure, i just know he would be a top 10 pick if it wasn't for his injury. Maybe 15 is too high to take him. I do think for a team that relies so heavily on their farm system for players and to "go for it" trades, if you can get a guy on sale, i'm for it.
  5. Woodard and Chris Saenz are the two that stand out for me. Saenz in particular as it was the only time he ever appeared in a major league game and he threw 6 shutout innings, striking out 7. completely forgot about Saenz
  6. I thought I remembered the other Woody having a spectacular debut and was right. I'm sure there are more https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/july-28-1997-brewers-steve-woodard-whiffs-12-in-first-big-league-start/ this article brings up a lot of fun names from the past. these late 90's teams were that good, but I had fun watching them.
  7. #1 nobody knows IF we are enamored with Wicks. These are just mock drafts with writers speculating based on what the are hearing, 90% of it is hot air. I do like Ford and would be perfectly happy with that pick. Also OK with taking a risk on Hoglund. Still wouldn't be surprised if a guy falls like last year for whatever reason. You just need a 2-3 teams draft underslot, and it could happen.
  8. Vegas favoring the bucks makes me feel better about this. Holiday needs to step up. He has been a disappointment in this series. First 3 games they pretty much did whatever they wanted inside, Sunday not too much even before Giannis got hurt. Portis and Lopez are their really only hopes to do some damage in the paint. They clearly are the better team and have been here before. I think they will rally around Giannis' injury and the home crowd and get a big win today.
  9. this the trade, Houston sent Tucker and Rodions Kurucs to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday for D.J. Augustin, D.J. Wilson and the Bucks’ first-round pick in 2023. Houston also received the right to swap their 2021 second-round pick for Milwaukee’s 2021 second-round pick. Aside from getting Tucker and Kurucs, Milwaukee also re-acquired their 2022 first-round pick from Houston, which it had obtained from Cleveland via a four-team trade earlier this season. they get the 1st pick in the 2nd round this season, their own 1st next season back and traded their 1st in 2023.
  10. Also what really isn't good, is that if Giannis is out all of next season, its my belief that the bucks are just a meddling high playoff seed. They are too good to tank, and not goin enough to make traction in the playoffs. With Middleton and Holiday on the court the bucks are a 35-40 win team at least.
  11. you are correct, they did reacquire their 1st next season in the Tucker trade. they traded their 1st this year. NBA rules due make you have a 1st round every other season, so thats the only way the Tucker trade could be executed.
  12. I wonder if this will be a short term call up, He really hasn't done much to warrant a call-up once moved to the pen, but his strike out numbers are pretty good and he impressed me in the spring.
  13. Pretty big deal to get the reigning big 10 dpoy.
  14. from April; Zaire Wade is a three-star recruit and the 296th ranked player in the 2021 recruiting class, according to 247Sports Composite. ESPN basketball recruiting rates him a 76 on a scale of 100. He currently has scholarship offers from UC Santa Barbara, DePaul, Nebraska, Rhode Island, TCU, South Carolina, and Toledo
  15. I’d like to see what the brewers bullpen era was before and after. This is clearly a win/win trade and I’d do it over 7 days a week and twice on Sunday but the depth of the pen has been an issue since.
  16. they dominated the 1st half of game 5, only to lose because KD had the game of his playoff career. I think while less than 50/50, they do have a chance. Granted Harden was much better yesterday than game 5 and I wonder if Kyrie is going to give it a good tomorrow night.
  17. thats true, my point is that he came in 3 run leads he night. yes we take him for granted, but your closer should not be blowing 3 run leads on the regular. Its way more stressful when you come in with a 1 run lead or even worse with the tie run on base.
  18. His win was a blown save Saves don't say much. Hader them all weekend, when really never was in trouble or the game needed to be "saved"
  19. For those that said tucker wasn’t doing Much, this was his game to show off how while he doesn’t fill out the stat sheet, he proved that the bucks were smart to get him. They don’t have that type of player on that team. Someone that isn’t afraid to mix it up. I thought he was this years matthews, but he is doing more than Wesley ever did on this team
  20. he had a good game yesterday. Taylor has been better than him as a whole this season. Brewers made the right decision. It would be nice to have McKinney in Cain's absence, but the have been doing fine without him.
  21. It’s going to be reyes
  22. My guess is that, I think it is obvious that the everyday 1st baseman is not on the roster as of now. Bring up Peterson until you acquire that guy and you can DFA him, no harm done and probably stays in your organization anyway.
  23. Nottingham was just DFA'd, how hilarious would it be if we brought him in to play 1st.
  24. its not a bad idea. that is a true change of scenery trade that could benefit both, without either team selling low. Mariners would never do it. To me it’s obvious the Brewers are going to take their time with Hiura and not move him after a horrendously bad stretch………he has options…..other teams would try and get him for a bag of balls which isn’t going to happen. Take a deep breath and give him some time to make changes and hopefully figure it out. plus the brewers don't really need an OF as much as an IF. Lux is another change of scene possibility. Again no way the Dodgers do it, but this is a message board, thats what we do here.
