  1. nowhere to go but up
  2. if the offense continues to struggle I wonder if the brewers would replace Haines with their minor league hitting coordinator, Sara Goodrum?
  3. I think if he can hold down the 7ths (like I expected when this minor league signing was announced), this is a great move.
  4. Weigel comes in at #17 on the brewers top 30, according to MLB.com. been a while since the brewers acquired a prospect was actually ranked lower than his former team.
  5. people seem OK to pay for a ton of streaming services if it means they aren't paying for things the do not use. We have netflix, att tv, peacock, hbo max and disney. all in all. I would be more than happy to replace ballys sports go with att tv and figure out how to watch the few other shows / networks that I watch and keep what we have
  6. its a lot of action for 3 guys that just got sent to their respective ATS.
  7. freddy peralta was one of three pitchers acquired from seattle for adam lind. my bad, but my point doesn't change. Either way Weigel does intrigue me. I'm fine with the return, just wish it was for more of a higher ceiling guys
  8. Young or old I don't think you are going to get anything more intriguing than the guys we got. It is Orlando Arcia...you aren't going to get someone in the lower minors that has lots of potential. Guys like Arcia are endless and not exactly something super rare to go and try to acquire. I understand that but they have gotten guys like Freddy Peralta for Yovani Gallardo, it does happen.
  9. i probably would have preferred the lottery tickets rather than older guys that can help now but are nothing special.
  10. he is also 26 for what its worth. i think its a better return than i expected.
  11. i hope you are correct. an early season trade that wasn't made because of injury or because the guy wasn't going to make the roster is odd
  12. just looked at his defensive win shares stat and he is 0.5 this season (last year 3.0). His VORP is -.3 (last 1.6). All of this advanced defensive matrices are way down.
  13. this isn't unexpected, these players come to a school to play for a coach, when he is gone and there is no other connection to the university they are going to leave. Texas had 2 top recruits decommit over the last week and are now linked to Marquette.
  14. I made the change to att, it’s worth the extra 20 bucks
  15. For those that got att tv, what package did you get. I have been trying to sign up but I’m not sure what I’m getting includes Bally’s sports?
  16. kind of - the MLB all star game was a reward for building a new stadium. This was Atlanta's reward. I do not think the NBA All star game will ever come to Milwaukee to play in the Fiserv Forum, which is how MLB and NBA differs.
  17. pretty sure that ship sailed in 2002. the writers were upset that the had to eat hotdogs and brats in their free dinner buffet.
  18. the guy i would like is Avery Bradley if the Rockets buy him out over Rivers. kelly olynyk or otto porter would be 2 guys i'd look at ahead of Rivers.
  19. Rivers can’t sign until the 9th because he was waived and not bought out. So I’d expect the bucks to sign both to fill their 2 open roster spots
  20. seems shady and expensive (7 bucks a week) edit: i guess not that expensive but you are cheaper off getting att then rather than uzzo and YTTV or HULU and its more legit
  21. well they got Jeff Teague. not sure if that means they are backing away from Rivers? Again doesn't really help but he is a serviceable backup point so doesn't hurt either. also had to look it up, it was already 8 years ago that the bucks signed him to a offer sheet.
  22. Chris McIntosh will be taking over which makes me feel old
  23. Al McGuire couldn't compete with Duke, NC, or Kentucky for the best players so not really the goal to look for in a HC for MU, UW, or really any other school. Marquette is a top 30 job. Smart is a top 30 coach. I don’t want to compete with duke or North Carolina for recruits. I think they can do much better than then the last 7 years though
  24. Maybe the issue was the he reached too high to go from VCU to Texas. Marquette is a better job than vcu but not that much. He will have a lot more resources here. You are recruiting a different type of kid at Marquette than at Texas and probably a lot closer to what you would get at vcu. He needs to get a darn good staff that can help make inroads. I think that and if he can keep key guys from transferring will tell a lot on how this will go A lot of coaches had success at mid majors only to fail at big time schools. Archie Miller is another. This is a great chance for smart to revive his career and I hope he does and stays
  25. Yeah, I stole that almost exclusively from Kentucky Radio talking about how they were disappointed in their recent teams. I have Satellite, so I'm still not sure why I was listening to the local UK call-in show, but that was their take. So if Kentucky fans aren't loving it...I figured there'd be ample reason for UT fans to not love it at the moment. It furthers calipari as the greatest coach that he can pretty much coach a new roster every year.
