Basically, the MLB blackout restrictions have gone so far, it's to the point where as long as you want to watch the game, you can't, regardless of where you are.

I agree about the blackout restrictions.. when was the last time a blackout caused someone to purchase a ticket - 1990? With all the ways to follow the game on the Net today what is the point? Unlike every other business that tries to distribute their product to the widest possible audience sports leagues continue to do the opposite.

One of those abducted children, Sierra, has been in my house, a friend of my daughters. She is freaking out and has been all day. Way too close to home.

Random question: How many AB's does a player need to be able to win the "batting crown"?

I keep looking at stats to see who has the highest BA in the league and Braun is never on the lists. At what point does he get added?

Braun is now hitting .588 against lefties with a 1.849 OPS. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif

I may be incorrect, but I believe it's 504 ABs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that # sounds right to me.

1957 to the present ? A player has needed 3.1 plate appearances per team game; thus, players were no longer penalized for walking so frequently or benefited for walking so rarely.

It's 3.1 PAs for every game the team has played. Braun would need about 254 at this point and 503 by season's end.

I believe it is 3.1 PA per team game to qualify. So Braun would need a total of 257 PA (83 * 3.1) after today's game to be eligible. He has about 140 AB's, but not sure about total PA. He still has a way to go to be eligible.

Braun would need to average almost 4.5 PAs per game the rest of the way to be eligible.
