Vargas (like Bush) should be pulled at the 85 pitch mark, period, because that's when it seems to always start falling apart.

No doubt Villy has been huge! It all goes back to that extra inning game in Chicago when Yost came out after he walked a guy and aired him out. Since then he has been lights out.

Villy is the one guy out of the pen, besides Coco of course, I have 100% confidence in all the time.

 

The Brewers have off days scheduled Thursday and next Monday. So I'm all for skipping Claudio's next start. I have no interest in watching him pitch at Detriot...when we can instead throw...Suppan/Cappy/Sheets at them instead of Vargas/Suppan/Cappy.

I agree that CV DESERVES the first start available, but he's almost pitching too well out of the pen. I would imagine it would be very tempting for DM/Yost to bring up Gallardo rather than mess with CV and the stellar job he's doing. May not be fair to CV, but may be the best thing for the team in the short term.
