He has been very good, but he just gave up 8 Earned Runs against the Angels in his last outing in 5 innings......

Good Cappy. Somebody fine Good Cappy. Bad Cappy showed up his last two outings and I don't want to see that.

Penny had one dominant game and thats pretty much it. His stats outside that game are...

 

49.2 IP, 45 H, 20 BB, 21 K, 16 ER, 2.89 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, 0 HR. A good BABIP against, the fact he's not allowed a HR yet which is just a fluke and good strand rate and one really good game has pretty much driven his stats. Otherwise he's a 4 ERA guy on the year with only 1 more K than BB. This is not a game that we can't win and we have the best pitcher going.

Hopefully same lineup as Monday , but you could start Gross or Gwynn in RF and batting 2. Doesn't matter to me. I just dont want to ever see Mench or Crappanino again. I know that will not come true though. Lets go Cappy! Pitch a dandy and lets head to San Diego.

Penny can be sick at times, but suffers from occasional turnbowism. If he cannot get his offspeed stuff working, his 96mph fastball becomes very hitable.

Yeah I meant the better of the two. I think Capuano is a better pitcher than Penny. They are pretty similar actually, starting out strong and fading as the year goes on on a regular basis.

Looking forward to this one as much as any game this season. Good pitching matchup and it's the rubber game of the series between two first place teams. Could be a battle.

 

I've always liked Brad Penny. I'm glad to see that he's sort of living up to his hype.

And before that he gave up 4 runs in 25.3 innings. Hopefully the angels game is the start of a downward slide for Penny.
