I'm a bit afraid of the "letdown" game today. We're coming off a huge, emotional win. The pitching matchup is well in our favor today, and we should have gotten a big momentum boost after yesterday. This is the game last year that we always seemed to lose, deflating our momentum before it could go anywhere.

I hope I'm just being overly cautious, but after everything we've seen in the last week, I can't help it.

On both the east coast and west coast FOX stations I get on Directv, I get Tigers/Yankees. Ugh.

Guess MLB.tv will have it? or not?

I think games are usually blacked out nationwide on MLB.tv on Saturday afternoon games...something to do with Fox owning all the rights...I could be wrong.

I don't know either. I've never had to worry about it in the past.

I can't believe we've got over 2 hours before the game. What am I going to do before then?

Although last night game was awesome, I'd rather them win by being ahead the whole game. The first 8 innings sucked. Especially the 7th inning, I think (I was at the bar so memory a little fuzzy) when Braun got tagged out trying to score. I thought it was over then.

I really hope they walk Pujols every time he's up unless the bases are loaded. Why not give him the Barry Bonds treatment, I mean he already has a 50% chance of getting on base so why not just give him one base.

Jason Isringhausen, RP STL
News: After blowing his major league leading fifth save on Friday night in a 4-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, Jason Isringhausen will no longer close games, manager Tony La Russa said Saturday. "He's still prepared to pitch important innings, but for a while we'll try to keep him out of the ninth inning," La Russa said. "If we're playing well, there's still going to be games where you can't cherry pick his situations because if we're playing well, you need your bullpen." The Cardinals manager said the closing duties will be split between Ryan Franklin and Russ Springer, and that he wouldn't shy from using a left-hander in the role against certain lineups.
Analysis: La Russa told Isringhausen on Saturday that it's no different from when a top hitter is struggling in the lineup. La Russa's only options would be to shuffle the lineup or give a player a few days on the bench. In Isringhausen's case, La Russa wants to keep him active and fresh, but still give him a mental break from the taxing role of being the closer. If you pay close attention to what La Russa said, it appears this may only be a temporary move. Fantasy owners in deeper leagues that reward saves should try to stash him away if they have the roster space as Isringhausen can be very solid closer when he's right. For now, though, you'll have to keep him reserved until he can get his act together.

Lets see if the Yost/LaRussa one-upsmanship continues and Yost announces the same about Gagne today. These two are like the extremely poormans version of that Michael Jordan and Larry Bird commercial in the 90's.

To rub the salt in the wound of not getting the Brewers on my local Fox affiliate today, the team I get? The Cubs.

Too nice a Saturday afternoon to sit in front of Gameday on my computer all day; let's Go Sheets, let's Go Crew, but I'll catch you on the flipside

Yeah, I'm in Atlanta and I'm getting the Cubs (I figured I would - more attractive matchup). I may go mow the lawn.

Bill Schroeder doing the color commentary today? Seems strange, but whatever. I was hoping to get away from ol Bill for a while but as long as the game is on I really don't care.

WTG Ben! Nice to do it against a future HOFer, too.

I'm glad we get a nice change of pace with the announcing team! Meh.

Corey not doing a good job to dispel the stereotype of people from Kentucky.

So tell me how is this national TV if it seems like only the Wisconsin and Missouri markets get the game, and the color commentator is our own color guy?

The play by play guy is the normal Cards announcer as well. Way to go Fox.

Congratulations to Sheets on becoming the Brewers' all time leader in Strikeouts, making Pujols look downright silly. Woo hoo!
