LA Dodgers (73 - 65)

Derek Lowe RHP (13-8, 3.79/1.26)

Maybe pitching on two days rest (after three innings of relief) took its toll on Lowe on Friday, who was not nearly as sharp as in recent starts, although he wasn't getting close pitches called, either. He had to pitch out of four jams in only five innings and allowed 10 base runners in five innings.

Milwaukee Brewers (64 - 75)

Chris Capuano LHP (11-9, 3.55/1.18)

Capuano only made a couple of mistakes in his last start on Friday against the Marlins, but they loomed large in his defeat. One of those mistakes was an inside fastball to Cory Ross with the game tied in the seventh. Ross hit a two-run home run on the pitch. Capuano gave up three runs in the game on five hits and one walk. He struck out seven in seven innings of work.

I said it lMonday, ever since Jenkins got benched he is having better AB's. Maybe because he's not pressing so much, or what, but he really is.

Just FYI, the Marlins Anibel Sanchez is throwing a no-hitter thru 8 IP against Arizona. He's given up 4 BB so he's not particulary sharp but still getting it done. I'm sure the Eastern Sports Programming Network will break in for it.

What's depressing is watching a no hitter by a team in the thick of the wild card race who has a payroll of 38 dollars while we wallow in misery for the umpteenth year in a row.
