Indians trade Blake to Dodgers for Prospects Meloan and Santana

Interesting deal, and I think a really good deal for the Indians. A top notch catching prospect and a decent pitcher is a good haul for Blake.

Wow, Santana is tearing up his A+ league. Was he highly touted/a high draft pick for L.A?

That's a pretty good prospect haul for the Indians for a player like Blake. I'm hoping by them acquiring another highly-touted high-A catcher means Jonathan Lucroy is less likely to be the PTBNL in the Sabathia deal.

I was thinking the same thing, Colby, that probably drops Lucroy out of consideration.

 

I think Cleveland did great in this trade.

Considering Lucroy's OPS in Brevard is now .879 and Taylor Green's is .820 I think that it would be a good thing if Lucroy is eliminated.

 

Still hoping it ends up being Cain instead of Brantley or Green. Whether or not Cleveland's scouts are still in Brevard will give us pretty good insight as to whom it will end up being.

I was excited to hear that Cleveland got this kid. I want LuCroy in our system. We can talk about his offense but the guy is gunning down runners left and right.
