Bill took the words right out of my mouth when he declared Brady Clark's over the shoulder in Colorado circa '03 was the best catch he's ever seen by a Brewer. I wish we had Youtube back then so I could have watched it repeatedly. I'm still pissed that ESPN didn't even classify it as one of the top 5 plays by a centerfielder that year. The #1 play was a Ryan Freel over the shoulder where he caught it at more of an angle and also had one foot still on the ground when he possessed the ball. So it was more of a lunging than a diving play. What an outrage!

I'm in Madison and no ESPN game. Can someone explain to me these blackout restrictions. I always thought if it was a home game and not sold out, it would be blacked out, but I have yet to see an ESPN game for the Brewers this year.

I don't know the exact detailed rule but for the ESPN2, ESPN and TBS broadcasts I thought it was blacked out in the local area when FSN was broadcasting the game. It's different for WGN (think it might be b/c they don't have national rights) so Brewers-Cubs games in Chicago are shown on WGN in Milwaukee (thought the ones in Milwaukee were blacked out though).

Oh yeah. Loved that Clark catch. It was amazing, I will never forget it. Best catch in Brewers history bar none. Kapler's was pretty awesome though.

So how much do you think CC has made himself with this Milwaukee stint? 30-40 extra million? If I was the Mets I would open the bank for him and pair him with Santana

CC is one of the best starting pitchers in the league and possibly one of the best hitting ones as well. What an athlete.

2 game win differential.

Let's not be silly now. My estimate was based on him having a 3.25 ERA. Through 8 starts, he's had a 1.55 ERA . You can certainly argue that my projection might have been a little too high but anything below 3 wouldn't have been realistic. A pitcher like CC can certainly throw up a 1.55 ERA over 8 starts but it would be foolish to assume that he will continue on that pace.

He's a great pitcher who has still has an ERA of 3.01 for the year. He had ERAs of 3.22, 3.21 and 3.83 the previous 3 years in the AL. An NL team would probably expect around a 3.15 ERA from him, which makes him about as good as they come. In this day and age, no starting pitcher probably has a true ERA below 3.

I will take wins anyway we can get them. But it would be nice to see some blow out wins where we don't need our closer or have a save situation.

CC can rake. Hooray, runs.

It is definitely good to see us get off to a nice start against the 'stros.

Thats how ya do it Rickie!

Nice job Ray!

Yeah, as soon as Durham teaches Weeks how to make what should have been a DP ball into a hit we'll be all set!

Had to log into the in game thread to see if anyone commented about the guy behind the plate that was posting messages on some sort of dry erase board. I just saw a couple of them.."Steve-dunk" and "Lol". Never saw anyone do this before, and now it appears that he has stopped. I wonder if he was asked to stop.
