See You at Fan Fest for Brewerfan's 5 year Anniversary

Scouting Report:

Westbrook

6-3, 4.77

Westbrook has been more consistent over his last three starts, compiling a 2-0 record and 2.45 ERA in those outings. He was particularly strong against the White Sox on Sunday, allowing just two runs on six hits over eight innings. He was in command of his sinker throughout, especially when he needed to get out of jams.

For the second time this season, Bush followed up a

Bush

4-6, 5.04

complete-game gem with a stinker, allowing at least one Cardinals run in each of his four innings pitched on Sunday at Miller Park. One of Bush's complete-game efforts came against the Reds, on April 22, but then he was tagged for seven runs in four innings at the Great American Ball Park on May 22. That fits into Bush's season-long struggles on the road -- he's 0-4 with a 7.14 ERA away from Miller Park.

-I used to have a neat-o signature, but it got erased.

In Bush's career he has had two starts against CLE...with a 3.46 ERA in 13 total innings, giving up 13 hits while striking out 14 and only walking 3....those are pretty good numbers against a good offense, all-be-it only in 2 starts...but combined with his generally good numbers at The Keg this year...I like our chances...I'll predict 7 innings, 4 runs and the crew pull it out, 7-5.

However, it worries me that the Brewers have never faced Westbrook...they always seem to have a tough time with pitchers they see for the first go-round...hopefully some of our AL guys (Lee, Koskie) have had some luck against Westbrook in the past...

EDIT: They do..."Lee is batting .429 (9-for-21) with a homer against Jake Westbrook (6-3, 4.77 ERA), Cleveland's starter on Saturday, while Koskie is batting .333 (7-for-21) with two homers off the right-hander."

Does this mean Koskie starts again at 3B, Cirillo at SS, Weeks at 2B and Prince back in at 1B giving Bill Hall the day off? That's my prediction, and I'm sticking to it.

One of my employees discovered this week that he is a distant relative of Jake Westbrook - second cousin or cousin removed or something.

However, since he has never met this guy, he intends to cheer the Brewers tonight (from Madison), and has given me the green light to heckle Westbrook. Such loyalty. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

We're leaving shortly. See some of you pretty soon. Go Brewers!

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

So which Dave Bush are we gonna get today...the second coming of Cy Young or the evil twin of Glendon Rusch?

After looking at his home splits/stats, I'm guessing Cy Young.

Any way the Crew gets through this series without Hafner and Martinez hitting bombs? Looking at Cleveland's lineup, I'm surprised they don't have a better record. Then again, maybe their fans are saying the same thing about Milwaukee...

I will be watching the game from afar (Scottsdale, AZ) so I hope that those who are at the fan fest can hoist a brew of their choice (even an Old Style or a Schlitz) for me. I hope you all have fun and have a safe trip to and from the ball park (the win is a given).

Ned's going with a interesting lineup tonite. Gross is starting in center and batting 8th. Koskie is batting 2nd, Lee 3rd, Feilder cleanup.

Weeks

Koskie

Lee

Feilder

Hall

Jenkins

Miller

Gross

Bush

Has the alternating Righty / Lefty thing going throughout the lineup.

Looks like the evil twin Dave Bush early, tonite.

I also think I like the lineup. It would be nicer if Koskie had some speed, but I like how he split up the lefties and kept Fielder protected.

I think they sent him because our hitters are getting dominated. That being said, I was hoping they weren't going to send him as the fielder got to that ball pretty quick, ah well.

Good to see Bush settling down. He's looked alot better the last three innings. If the pace of this games keeps up, the posters attending Fan Fest are in for a quick game.

Westbrook is killing us. 6Ks, 6 GOs. I'm glad I was at last night's game rather than this one. The crowd hasn't had much to get excited about.
