Granted, we do indeed suck...but we are facing Rich Harden. The dude is perhaps the best 1-5th inning guy in baseball. The key today is for Bush to keep us in the game and for the hitters to get to the bullpen in the 6th. One inning of decent at bats could do it.

couldn't have put it better myself. it'd be nice to get one more long inning to ensure that he's out the next time his spot comes up to bat, but if he has a couple more 10 pitch innings we may have to face him in the sixth

Looking like the mets with Santana going might just bump this up to a 1 1/2 game lead.

boy hopefully the Cubs can sweep the 4 games aganist the Mets next week

Harden has 60 pitches through three. If we can manage some plate disciple, considering they don't want to overexert Harden, maybe we can drive him early.

 

But boy, Counsell, Kendall, Hart, and the pitcher have been nothing short of 4 automatic outs lately.

Bill: Harden really saving his best stuff for Corey Hart.

 

Maybe it's that, or maybe Hart just completely sucks right now and has for most of the second half.
