I think the scorer's decision could have gone either way, but I agree that most third basemen would have made that play.

 

I'm glad Mat made the decision not to throw. Some guys would have tried to make up for the initial mistake and ending up making things worse than they needed to be.

Parra has just had terrible command this year. Many of his pitches are no where near the plate. He hasn't had a good walk rate since moving up to the majors but this year.... wow.

It seemed to me like he does too, but he is 4th in GIDP on the team this year and was 4th last year. I suppose he comes to bat more with runners on base as well.

Luckily we have the most awesome defensive catcher in baseball to get the most out of the pitching staff. I cant imagine how Parra would pitch if he didnt have Kendall behind the plate.

Over the last 14 months, a significant number of fans have called for Bush, Suppan and Parra to be replaced ASAP. Call me crazy but I think sometimes fans are a little too quick to call for player's heads. Parra has been terribly frustrating this year but I don't think it's time to pull the plug on him.
