Braun needs to learn to ease up on those balls if he's not absolutely sure he can get them with no one out. I'd much rather have a runner on 1st with none out than a runner on 2nd with none out. At the very least you have to make sure it doesn't get past you and it does far too often with Braun.

How many more games before Braun calls out the team again?
I began wondering this at least a week ago. A players-only meeting or Braun commentary probably couldn't hurt.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I am also fine with sending Gamel back down to triple A. It's not helping him at all when we are not using the DH to be sitting the bench. Plus as everyone else has said McGehee is playing fine and i like where ever he plays. Really hoping that we can start to win more and knock the indians out of any shot of the playoffs. I want Cliff Lee and Derosa in Brewer uniforms before the trading deadline.

If Gamel is sent down who do you call up though? The Hurricane?

Hey J.J. with a hit! Alright, maybe that gets his confidence back a little.

I'd rather have Gamel up than the Hurricane. McG is doing good, but he's mainly seeing just lefties. He might struggle without the platoon advantage. Gamel isn't doing that bad that he should be sent down.

Narveson is a lot like Parra. Pretty good stuff, but the location is awful. Either out of the zone or right down the middle.

Whatever it is, the team needs a real good wake up call. The starters aren't performing well enough so they're tiring the bullpen out. The offense has been inconsistent of late. There are too many guys under-performing (Hardy, Hart, Hall, Gamel, Parra, just to name a few), but yet there are some guys trying to pick up the slack (Counsell, McGehee, DiFelice, etc.). I think we really need to make a trade or two to solidify the team. I'm not a huge fan of Cliff Lee, seeing as he's not a consistent ace, and has had a history with injuries, but he would be a welcome addition. DeRosa would fill a HUGE hole, either at 3B, 2B, or even some starts in RF/SS. I love that he's an ultimate utility player. That would be the first deal I would try to do. The next would be to try getting a #3/4 starter to help the rotation.

This team is really scuffling. Something needs to change and change very quickly. Thankfully the NL Central has been tanking along with us so we are still in good shape, but one has to think that is going to change sooner rather than later.

I agree with most of what you say brewdude, but I just can't say Gamel is under-performing. I can't expect a rookie to come up and produce instantly. Sure he's not playing how he did in AAA; but did you expect him to seamlessly make the transition with no hiccups?

I was hesitant to include him, but instead of feeling comfortable when he comes to the plate (not to mention when a ball is hit his way at 3rd), I am always praying he doesn't strike out. I guess it's just the feeling of being spoiled by how successful Braun was when he first came to the majors. I'm sure with some time he'll work things out.
