New "Milwaukee" alternate road jersey unveiled

Finally. This was a long time coming. Many here, myself included, have long thought it's weird that they didn't have a "Milwaukee" road jersey. Looks good.

 

The first comment on the tweet is pretty epic: "I don't like that it doesnt say Brewers on the jersey."

So is this replacing their old one that says Brewers, or is it a 4th jersey? They should have changed it on the actual road jersey, not the alternative one (especially since I have a now out of date blue one)!

I am really glad they made the change. It looks very nice. I hope they eventually change the grey road jerseys to "Milwaukee" also.

Saw this on JSOnline and sounds like a good deal:

The new uniform top will be available exclusively at the Brewers team store at Miller Park and at the FanZone Store at Maryvale Baseball Park beginning Friday morning. Throughout the month of February, shoppers will receive two free Brewers tickets to an upcoming game with the purchase of the new jersey.

If the jersey is purchased at the Brewers Team Store at Miller Park,

the tickets will be for one of three select games in April. If the

jersey is purchased at the FanZone at Maryvale, the two tickets will be

for a 2010 Spring Training game at Maryvale Baseball Park. The jersey

will be exclusive to the Brewers Team Store and the FanZone in Maryvale

for the month of February.

Yeah, someone quipped on the JSOnline blog that "it'll probably cost $200 and you get two terrace reserved tickets". Probably not too far off from the truth, but still not a bad deal.

I know I am in the minority but I think those blue jerseys would look awesome with white hats (white hat/blue brim). In the past teams have tried the white hats and it's looked stupid, but those were all weird because they didn't really fit. I am no good at computer images/pictures. Would someone be able to take a current Brewers hat and make it white and put it next to a blue jersey so we could see what it would look like?

A white hat would look better than those red "patriotic" ones they debuted this past year that made them look like Cardinals copycats.

I'm not a fan of any alternate jerseys. One for home, one for road is fine. Add a patch to commemorate a special event.

 

This new one looks fine for BP.

I do too. Love the old ball in glove logo, but like the current Brewer blue much better.

I gotta think they are keeping the dark blue "Brewers" jersey for home games. Same jersey, same font - just different text based on home/away.

That is my guess too, since they are characterizing this jersey as the "alternate road jersey."

I liked the powder blues, but I think they should be left in the past. I like the current logos and color scheme.

I am going to Ditto this. I always like the city name on the "Aways". I'll take this as a step in the right direction.

This is disappointing, I was hoping for Milwaukee on the greys for so long and all the rumors got my hopes up. An alternate for both home and away seems overboard.
