So I would like an explanation as to why Gomez, who is a below average hitter and doesn't have the platoon advantage, is batting #2 and Edmonds who may not be average but at least has a platoon advantage going for him is #6. Let's see just how creative we can be. I am going to go with

Macha likes more outs in front of Braun and Fielder so they can try to win games by only hitting solo homeruns.

Edmonds lost the wrestle off.

The CF hits #2, except when we have a gritty veteran like CC to hit #2.

Macha thought we were scoring to many runs in the top of the lineup and didn't want the guys at the bottom getting jealous.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Gomez will bat in the #2 spot until he goes into a horrendous slump or Macha is canned. Meanwhile every time Escobar goes 1 for 10 Macha will sit him down for 2 days in favor of Counsell. I have no problem with Craig getting starts here and there but he's on pace for over 30 starts at SS alone. If he wants to get CC 2 starts a week rotate the 2 starts between every IF position besides 1B, keep everyone fresh. It wouldn't hurt to give McGehee and Weeks a day off here and there.

Macha is way too inconsistent for me, he says it's all about production, except when it's a veteran he likes who's slumping, then he keeps trotting them out there day after day. Let the youngsters go through their ups and downs without punishing them Ken.

Obviously its to get Gomez as many PA as possible so he can steal a bunch of bases so he when Cain replaces him at the end of the year they can trade him to the White Sox for a much better player, say Alex Rios and $20m.

Why can't Macha just put Gomez at 8? It just doesn't make sense. It's not that Carlos playing bad, but he just should not be batting 2nd. He would be fine down at 8th. Macha just puzzles me sometimes.

I agree that watching Gomez in the 2 spot is frustrating. Last night I was shocked when he got a hit in his first at bat with Weeks on base given our recent offensive issues.

On a side note, I just typed in the wrong number on Directv and found it funny that 666 was showing the Pirates vs. Cubs as an alternate channel for CSN in Chicago. I would find watching that matchup to be one circle of hades.

Wow, it's dead in here. Quite a start!
It might be stunned silence. Give the fan base a chance to recover. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Now, Doug, tonight is not a race to see which starting pitcher can outcrap the other. Don't let the Dodgers back in.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
