My girlfriend and I are going to be heading down to St. Louis for the June 5th game vs. the Brewers.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do in St. Louis? We are only really looking for the that Saturday night. Any restaurants/bars that we should check out downtown. We are going to be staying at the Hyatt.

There is plenty to do downtown. If you are looking for nightlife close to your hotel, Laclede's Landing has a bunch of bars/clubs. Most have a cover, but I believe Morgan St. is still free. If you want to walk a slight bit further, there are probably better places on Washington Avenue. Plenty of restaurants there too. Downtown STL itself is pretty dead, the better places are in the Western part of the city, IMO. I don't really have a favorite restaurant downtown, but there is a Ruth's Chris in the lobby of the Hyatt, can't go wrong there!

Good call Robin! The relatively new Lumiere casino is right near the stadium. A handful of good restaurants in there, and something fun if you are not into the club scene. The zoo is nice, and there are some decent cultural things to check out, was just under the impression you were looking for something to do solely on Saturday night.

Remember to wear your seersucker suit (no matter the temperature), and make sure your girlfriend brings her giant Kentucky Derby-style hat to go with her bright spring dress. You must be respectful to the opponent, so stand each time a Cardinal hitter comes up to bat. Remain standing until the walk-up song is turned off. Always be conscious of the volume of your voice and your body language. Should a Brewer player strike someone out, hit a home run, or make an impressive defensive play, it is acceptable to quickly stand, clap lightly 3-5 times, and even give a small nod before promptly sitting back down. On the off chance the Brewers actually win the game, smiling is permissible, but make sure to stare straight ahead and avoid any eye contact with any Cardinal fan whatsoever. Should you see any other Brewer fans, it is acceptable to stop, give a firm handshake, and begin walking briskly again.

Sorry, I've never been to STL, so can't really tell you what else to do there. I hear the zoo is nice.

We used Man vs Food and other Food Network and Travel Channel shows to find tasty food - namely sundaes at Crown Candy Kitchen and BBQ at Pappy's Smokehouse. Pappy's was delicious. They only make so much food per day and when they run out, they run out, so go for lunch.

I'll 2nd Pappy's. It's a mile or two west of the downtown area, but it's worth it. We went at around 3-4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the line was out the door, but it was a fun atmosphere.

Three words for you : Ed's Chili Mac... Best breakfast ever, go there everytime I get to St. Louis. The Lumiere is a pretty cool casino, and I'm a fan of the whole Landing area.Short walk/cab ride from most of the hotels in the area. Mike Sherman's before the game, huge open air bar right across from the stadium, and i think that they have a nice restraunt too. Hope you have fun, I've had a blast the few times we went down there for games.

Forgot that there is a micro brew right on one of the corners down on the Landing. Great food, and pretty decent beer.

The Arch still makes me feel like a little kid (I'm almost 26), there's something amazing about being up that high in such a "weird" structure.

Ted Drews Frozen Custard. I realize we're kind of spoiled in Wisconsin in general and the Milwaukee area specifically, but it's still a good place to grab a concrete, and there they basically are concrete.

The Budweiser (Anheuser Busch/InBev/Whatever) brewery is impressive if only for the size. I dislike just about all of their beers, but it was still a cool tour.

Grant's Farm is worth the time, look it up, it's free except for parking (I believe).

Other than that I was always there with family on trips growing up, so I've never had the chance to take in the town as an adult.
