Brandon Phillips Choice Words for the Cardinals (Latest: benches clear; Cueto, Baker, LaRussa suspended; four others fined)

FWIW, Cabrera was completely wrong. I just looked at the gameday pitch data, and there was only one pitch that I saw that was not a strike called a strike, and a few strikes that were called balls for Halladay. To me, it looked like the ump did a pretty good job.

I've never been a big fan of Cabrera, though, so whatever.

Bytes was right about the Reds against good teams. But the Card are supposed to be classy. His article certainly wasn't the classy "hats off to the division champs," sort. Sounded more like poor loser sort of stuff to me. I'm sure Card fans would say he was, at the very least, a very classy poor loser.
There needs to be a King Thames version of the bible.

And...the Cardinals had a losing record (49-53 by my count) against teams with losing records. I guess that's supposed to be better?

Its a few weeks old, I haven't seen this posted anywhere. Sorry if I missed the boat. Cueto officially retired Jason LaRue with the kick to the head that caused LaRue a concussion. What a difficult way to end a career. Not that LaRue's retirement will be felt strongly throughout the game of baseball or anything, but it is just another tidbit to add the this story.

So, how long until we get to read the next St. Louis 'news' column about how the Reds just didn't have the chemistry or the passion to win in the postseason? I'm going to guess it'll hit the internet within the next few hours...
