Back from AK and on my way to the Keg for my first game of the season. Stop by for an AK microbrew and some salmon if you see us tailgating.

Hmm, sounds better than the sub sandwiches we're planning to bring to tailgate. (Time crunch, no grilling. Sigh.)

Bob Wickman and Geoff Jenkins getting interviewed by Telly on the pre-game.
Did Wickman always have such a huge head/neck? Man.

Nice Escobar, nice. Now we only need to figure out what that "Essscobar" sound clip at Miller Park is.

It is pretty sad when even the Pirates are getting calls against us.

UW-Madison chancellor Biddy Martin is holding her own nicely with Uecker in the radio booth. She's there to talk about the Seligs' gift of an endowed chair in history , his plans to write his memoirs at UW-Madison in his post-commissioner days, and a donation to UW's Good People scholarship fund in the Seligs' names (made by Mark Attanasio, Lew Wolff and Tom Werner).

Was Braun safe?
Very much so. His foot hit first before the ball even started to disappear into the glove. No idea how they missed that call.

But hey, isn't the human element great!?

That will have a Lastings effect on the game. What a horrible play. What a horrible first name. LOL.

I pray to god we sell high on Weeks this offseason. I can't believe that guy is ops'ing in the 800s. Cannot control the count at all.
The guy who's second on the team in pitches per plate appearance can't control the count? I guess I'm confused about that one.

He might strike out 200 times this year. Of course he'll be up there on PPA. He just doesn't walk enough to strike out that much.

Tagging on Weeks for something as meaningless as PPA seems like nit picking. Weeks is consistently one of the best Obp guys on the team as well as in the league for 2nd basemen coupled with ++ power.

People used to talk about how important PPA was for guy like Jason Kendall. Probably because he couldn't hit anymore.

I wish I would've kept track from the beginning of the year how many times Gomez has swung at two pitches nowhere near the strike zone only to take a called strike three. It's happened at least three times that I can remember.

Yeah, that strike three was straight as an arrow and clearly in the zone. Gomez doesn't seem to possess any decent pitch recognition at all.
