brutal.....Sometimes you just need a starting pitcher to throw 7 or 8 shutout innings to get you out of a funk.

We don't seem to have anyone even remotely up to that task right now.

We'll be sellers by the deadline, mark my words, especially with that brutal 11 game road trip after the break.

Be prepared for the Prince trade where we get the next Kevin Mench and Francisco Cordero in return!

We're just a grand slam away from tying this baby up. (Wonder if we can have Marcum pinch-hit for Betancourt or Wilson?)

Marcum played shortstop in college. Can't be any worse.

Things to keep the board occupied tonight:

Yuni - more errors or strikeouts tonight?

How many outs will the DBacks make stretching a single into a triple? More or less than the Brewers do?

Does RR bring Loe in to pitch the 8th...down by 10?

Can the brat turn this season around?

Do we go with pink font or haikus tomorrow night?

I keep a graph that charts the Brewers record .500 over time. It's amazing how this season is dominated by long straight lines in one direction or the other.

The trip after the break will be telling, but by then end of the night we may be saying the same thing about the rest of this homestand. If the Cinci monkey can't be thrown off the back, it could be a really long, depressing AS Break with the only light at the end of the tunnel appearing more and more to be like a train.

Apparently Yuni thought his pants were to blame for his terrible defense in the 1st. He just made a play, maybe he was right.

Edit: And he just let another one get by him. I would at least like to see him dive for one, even if it isn't close. Just look like your making an effort.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

If only Yuni concentrated 1/4 as much on improving his approach at the plate and defensive play as he cares about what his pant legs look like, he'd be an all-star.

Betancourt really is one of the worst hitters in MLB isn't he? Certainly among starters. Just a brutal approach at the plate

Looks like Chone Figgins has a nice stranglehold on worst everyday player, but Casey and Yuni are right in the thick of things for worst everyday NLer

If we only had an in house option for even one of these players....
