Plays at the plate are very difficult for the catcher. That one took a bad bounce. The catchers mitt causes problems sometimes also. With the pitcher coming up, you can argue that it is ok to take the risk there.

As a counter point, this Giants offense is pretty brutal. The only position where I'd take their hitter over ours would be 3rd base...yes, I said it, I'd rather have Yuni than Crawford.

first round of the 2008 draft netted (first, albeit drunken, filter) Hosmer, Matusz, Posey, gBeckham, Crow, Smoak, jWeeks, Wallace above LAWRIE.

 

 

if we had drafted Marcum and got him to the Majors by now this board would be absolutely nuts about Melvin / Jack Z.
