Root for initials, as R.A. Dickey and J.A. Happ (and Tim Hudson) will help determine if the Brewers are in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place when we wake up Tuesday AM, as well as keeping the Reds at bay.

I'm sure you could find the updates, but here's MLB.com's scoreboard page. No matinees, all evening games for these three contests.

I'm trying to think of good things to say about the Astros, but I can't think of any. They're due? They are equally as bad no matter where they play. I'll hope for the best, though.

the Astros take a lot of "good cuts" and show a lot of hustle. they're gamers. they're a nine-man David Eckstein.

It's hard to believe that ESPN is showing the Braves v Pirates since both the Yanks and Sox are playing at the same time.

Wow. I've never seen this before. The Pirates' Walker just reached out and hit a pitch-out pitch to protect the runner, who was going on a hit-and-run. Grounded out, but the runner advanced to second and just scored on a base hit.

It was very Vlad-like.

We are taking my 11-year-old nephew to Friday's game. He and I had this conversation the other day:

Nephew: Who do the Brewers play that night?

hawing: 'Stros.

Nephew: So, they might win this time.

(The Brewers' record when he attends games is so-so at best)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Another worthwhile test for the lucky polo, hawing.

Braves have the bases loaded against banana glove (I can't help but calling him that, in his start against the Brewers he had a horrendously yellow glove). Astros were, well, the Astros. Hopefully the Braves can get back in this game.

To reuse a hawing joke, now pitching for the Pirates, poser, I mean Resop.

Braves aren't really doing much. Jim Powell is regaling the radio listeners with stories of Billy Wagner beaning his own child in a father-son wiffleball game due to showboating a home run, that was amusing.

I'm late to the party here but cheering for the Pirates the whole series.

I know it may be a challenge for 2 NL Central teams to make it and the Brewers be one of them with the division-heavy schedule down the stretch, but I'm still confident that the Crew can take the Pirates, and keeping the Braves close keeps us "Cards getting hot against everybody but the Brewers" safe.

yeah, the Pirates (and that little girl) definitely got hosed on that call. Absolutely terrible.

For the Braves, that is a pretty crappy way to win a game.

(for the Brewers, I'll take it 'cause we need a break every now and then)

The ump should be fired. I wanted the Braves to win too but I didnt want the game handed to them by an ump.

He was tagged three times before got anywhere near the plate. Worst of all, Proctor fell down running to first, so it could have been a double play.
