You have to love the economics of baseball. Philly is dominating the NL and they can trade for a guy like Pence. Meanwhile, Milwaukee is scrapin galong looking for AAA guys from other organizations.

Well the Phillies have better prospects than the Brewers that the Astros like. It would have taken Gamel+ to get Pence from Houston and I just don't see Melvin doing that kind of a deal maybe if Hart was traded for a SS maybe but no way without something like that happening.

it's a terrible system no doubt. fortunately, if you're smart and know what you're looking for. there are alot of equally terrible gms who leave players sitting out there like it's a yahoo fantasy baseball public league.

All I want for my birthday is the Brewers to beat the Astros. I really don't think that's too much to ask.
Happy birthday, Trwi7.

I just flipped on the game. Is Wolf pitching as well as his line indicates?

I haven't lived in Milwaukee in 13 years, and 4 of the years I "lived" there, I was in college out of state, so it's not like I was there a lot, anyway.

So Estrada or Dillard or Loe for the 7th?
I'm thinking Estrada, as there would be a possibility of two lefties in the next four batters. Everyone else is a righty.

I usually won't complain about umps, but this is the most irritated I've been all year. At least 5 times he called a strike a ball for Wolf in the top of the 6th alone, and at least 5 times he called a ball for a strike against us for the bottom of the 6th.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

For what reason is Wolf out there?

To make the game more exciting? At least Hawkins is warming up now

The economics certainly help, but you have to give the phillies a ton of credit for continuing to stock a farm system that allows them to make trades like that.

It also helps when people think JA Happ is good.
