Braun walk off HRs

I think the broadcast last night flashed a graphic saying that was Braun's 12th career walk off HR. Really? 716 career games, half of those on the road (wher you cannot have a walk off) so that's saying he's had a walk off HR once every 30 home games? I find that pretty hard to believe. Confirmation? Any Rain Man out there that remembers or can find all 12?

I saw the graphic and commented on Ramblings it was incorrect. 12th game-winning HR maybe, depending on how it is defined.

That doesn't seem right to me either. I think there are only three, including last night:

 

9/13/11: vs. COL

9/26/09: vs. PHI

9/25/08: vs. PIT

Those are his 3 walk of HR's. He also had a "game winning" HR in Florida earlier this year, one in St Louis in the 9th a few years ago. Or maybe it was supposed to be 12th career walkoff hit. Even that seems like a lot though.

12th career walkoff hit makes more sense. I remember one either this year or last vs. the Pirates which was not a home run, but still a walkoff.

If you follow the game winning RBI stat, a HR hit in the 1st inning of a game in which the lead is never relinquished was a game winner.

That's why MLB dumped GWRBI as an official stat. Too many of them were happening early in the game. While it obviously didn't do anything in terms of player evaluation, it didn't even make for very good trivia.

When they interviewed him after the game, the graphic was updated to say it was his 3rd walk-off home run. They could have meant 12th walk-off hit, but I agree, that sounds like a lot too.

Braun has:

5 career walk off hits, including 3 HRs

32 game tying hits, including 13 HRs

113 go-ahead hits, including 58 HRs

5 huh? 3 HR's are easy. He had a walk-off double against Washington that I remember. I want to say the other was against the Cubs? Anyone?
