They just announced many of the headliners on the free stages, and I'm interested to get others opinions. I personally have not heard of many of them. I am kind of pumped for Lupe Fiasco. I think he is spectacular.

Agree on Lupe, Dmiles. I haven't had a chance to look yet at the whole menu, but not only do I think Lupe makes good music, he gives off the impression to me that he'd hold up well in live performance.

Is it me, or has Aerosmith been touring through the area at least 2 times annually since Permanent Vacation came out ('87-ish)? I take it they have a very devoted fanbase here in Wisconsin.

they have been rolling out headliners all week, and its really getting me excited for the summerfest. If I didn't have time or monetary restrictions I would love to see the following: Mayer Hawthorne, Tune-Yards, David Gray, Ben Folds Five, Avett Brothers, The Head and the Heart, Joss Stone, and Fitz and the Tantrums.

I'm a Summerfest-hater... mostly because I get annoyed easily by huge crowds... but I will be going this year to see The Hives. They are very entertaining.

I'm going to Iron Maiden. HUGE fan. It's rare they are playing so many US dates this summer, usually they are all over the world and only play a few major US cities.

I may also check out the Scorpions. I think they are on their "farewell tour".

You ever listen to The Walkmen? Judging by this post and others I've seen you made I think you'd like them. I saw them last year and they put on a great show.

A nice lineup(there are about 6 bands in there i'd like to see), but not worth the $230 ticket fee. Add in the gas, tolls, parking, hotel room for the two nights, and food, and you are talking north of $400 easy. I'll take my $36 3 day pass for summerfest myself. Then again, I've always been a cheapskate. :laughing

My old friend's DJ group is playing Lolla this year, very cool that someone I know gets to play such a big show. If anyone goes, make sure to check out Orchard Lounge.

stage looks good, with ben folds, avett brothers and david gray. guess you need to start getting free passes in May to guarantee seats to these shows.
