Braun wouldn't have scored from 1st. This would have given a sac fly opportunity, however.

They couldn't have made that more obvious. The ESPN cameras showed Braun yelling, "Nyjer!" right after his single, and nodding toward the 3rd base coach.

 

Try a little secrecy next time, fellas.

Yes bizarre, and yes joking. The MP one was more bizarre than the Metrodome one.

Slo-mo'd that... The throw went to the right of Gomez, but the 1B was inside of Gomez... Can't believe he was able to catch that in time

Gomez lucky he wasn't called for running inside the baseline

 

Last year Morgan got called on that. It's one of those things you don't see called unless it's not an out. Had the ball hit Gomez on a throw inside, it may have been called. Ironic part was Gomez running inside helped the pitcher.

I get this sense that as Gamel plays more and more and actually realizes, "Hey, I'm a starting, full-time big leaguer," he's just going to take off. Like once the AAA-player up for a few AB's feeling wears off, it's on. He seems like a true, down and dirty "baseball player" to me, if that makes any sense.

Nifty dp there with the shift on. I really liked how Gonzo kind of surrounded the ball to give Rick time to go the bag for the turn. Also, nice stretch by Mat.

 

dlk9s...its funny you say that as I too have always thought Gamel just looks like a ball player
