Today (April 15, 2012) marks 25 years since the Brewers' first (and only, to date) no-hitter, thrown by Juan Nieves vs. the Orioles at Baltimore.

Actually, it was a Wednesday night. I had to go to a required German-language lecture for a class. I brought my Walkman but to my dismay the prof sat next to me. So I found out about the no-no from a message scrawled by my roommate on the dry-erase board that graced our dorm room door. I didn't have a TV at the time, either, so it was literally years before I ever saw highlights from that game.

Could have sworn it was a Friday. Must have meshed together a couple of different games.... I'm just glad that it was televised on Channel 18.

Today is my parents 40th Anniversary. I remember watching the game with my dad in '87 while celebrating their big day and cheering once Robin made that awesome catch. Every year on this day, I remember that great moment and it's something I share with my dad annually.

Mets have 0. The Mets traded a 24 yo Nolan Ryan (and others) for 1+ years of Jim Fregosi.

2000 posts again![/ot]

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

I wonder how many franchises have had a longer no hitter "drought." You would think we would manage one more than once in a quarter century.

Well, imho, they (Sabathia) had one taken from them in 2008 by the official scorer.

I remember catching the game on the radio for the last few innings. I remember Bob and Pat sounding "unusual" that evening. Seemed like at the end of each inning, they were much more "abrupt" about information they normally shared. But I do remember picking up on what was happening somehow.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
