C'mon. It's time to officially christen this as the Summer of George.

He's obviously very comfortable in his all-cotton uniform.

If TLR was managing, he would've said he purposely pitched around Kottaras to get to the pitcher.

Well Buck called the walk to Gonzlez intentional. And yeah that makes no sense on any level.

How do you not pinch hit right there? Unfathomable...

You have a completely gassed bullpen which makes the choice for you.

Still a good idea to leave Estrada in? For once, I agree with McCarver. You had a chance to take the lead. The Brewers need a win. Use the bullpen, send down a couple guys tomorrow and bring up some fresh arms.

That was a pretty darn good pitch. Molina is a lot better offensively than people give him credit for.

According to McCarver it was a hanger. What a buffoon. It was a tough pitch. I thought they might try to kind of pitch around Molina there.

Yes still a good idea. Trying to justify it by what happens the next inning is just silly. You have a completely gassed bullpen, a pitcher pitching pretty well and still low in his pitch count. If Estrada had come out and gone 1 2 3 would you be saying it was a good idea? If so you are going about this completely wrong. Molina took a pitch down and out of the strike zone out for a HR, not much you can do about something like that, sometimes the hitter just wins.

It's really starting to appear that, barring serious injury problems or a complete pitching collapse, the Cards going to run away and hide on this division. Nobody is close to good enough other than the Brewers and Reds, and both of those teams are too often busy finding ways to lose while the Cards patiently wait for opportunities to win.

Bullpen isn't gassed at all. Loe/Veras/KROD/Axford are all fresh. You wouldn't use the guys you used yesterday in a tie game anwyay.

No, I thought it was stupid right away. They had a chance to take the lead. The bullpen isn't gassed if you actually use pitchers outside of their defined roles. Loe, Veras, KRod, and Axford could all be used even if they didn't take the lead, they haven't pitched in at least 3 days. Yeah I know they haven't been lights out this year but I would take my chances with them if it meant a chance at 2 runs.
