I said this earlier and was scoffed at, but I wouldn't be shocked if Marcum ended with a better season line than Greinke. Throw him a club friendly offer and see what he does.

At this point, yes. Morgan has been atrocious. Gomez is currently hitting with nearly even splits. I'd prefer Kottaras there though. He's a fastball hitter, there may not be another pinch-hitting opportunity left in this game.

I'm as big of a Kottaras supporter that you'll find, but you can't use him there. It's looking like this game could go into extra innings. They might need him to catch. If it was a chance with runners on or something, sure, but not to lead off an inning.

A hit in that spot, especially an extra base hit, would've gone a long way to preventing extra innings an winning. Gomez could've come in to run and stole a base or two as well.
