Ball one and strike three to Aoki were the EXACT same pitch. He should be on first with a walk right now.

Fx said they were borderline so I won't complain.

I guess the point I was trying to make is that Aoki would chose not to swing at strike 3 because the exact same pitch was called a ball earlier in the count. the ump is supposed to be consistent. Fx doesn't really factor into that.

Two pitches before the homer, the "Scout" thing on MLB Gameday said, "That was pitch number 45 for Marco Estrada; his effectiveness may start slipping, as he holds opposing hitters to a .161 average in the first 45 pitches but they hit .291 off him after that."

Congrats to Ryan Braun on career hit # 1,000!!

Have a game Ransom
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Well, he'd be in the pen this season if not for injuries to other guys. I think Marco is a fairly competent #5 starter. He's probably gonna take a loss tonight again that's as much on everybody else as it is on him. If the team had any kind of bullpen he should have been out after six with a very high quality start to his credit.

Nice start for Estrada. That first homer was a cheapy. As mentioned, he probably gets pulled after 6 if our pen was in order.

Meh...let's face it, the Reds are just a better team this year...better them than the Cards.
