This was huge. The Brewers go into Pittsburgh for three games while the Cardinals host Houston and the Brewers don't lose any ground. The Dodgers are down 3-1 in the fourth to WSH right now.

 

The Cardinals have six in a row vs. the Cubs and Astros before finishing the season vs. Washington and Cincinnati. It's going to be tough to gain any ground over the next week but they really need to pick up at least a game during that time.

 

Whatever happens, this team better get a great ovation after game 162. I think just about everybody here was in 2013 mode after 120 games (with good reason), but they've just kept going at it and kept mashing. I never thought we'd enjoy meaningful September baseball after the Greinke trade and falling to 54-66. Ain't baseball great?
