I'd laugh, but I've stepped barefoot on a cactus as well. Sometimes little clusters of cactus with about 7-8 needles will break away and wind up on the driveway or patio (especially after we have wind). Heck, as a golfer I've gotten it really bad at times. All Arizona golfers learn to beware of jumping cholla after they get stuck the first time.
