Yeah I know. I can't afford to do that now anyway. It just looks so cool. I've got the "S", that will hold me over while I troll the card shows.

doing a quick search on ebay....the letter J on pujols is going for $305 with 21 hrs left....

these things might be cool....but not $300 cool.

If you were a Cards fan with disposable income, you'd probably feel differently. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Not to mention that Cards fans also get a 4 PR for Carpenter.

$300 per letter for Pujols? Wow, I feel lucky. Imagine how much my set will go up if Sheets stays healthy and wins NL Cy Young? Doubtful, but hey it could happen

Bobbledude- What card holder have you found works best and looks nicest for these cards? I just got one and it's just in a plastic sleeve. Thanks for your help!

Peavy - I dont really know how to describe it but the best one is the card holder where there are two pieces - a bottom and a top. the card fits perfectly into the bottom and top just snaps on. Hope that helped

I have every single Hall auto card - like 25 or 30 of them, but it would take way to much work to post them all up here. He's really the only one I collect though.

Thanks, I think I know what you're talking about.

Not sure if it was this thread that had an influence, but the cards for the three Brewer sets have been going for 25-30 bucks a piece the last week or so. I'd imagine a few people here have taken an interest as well, so we're probably driving up the price on the things. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I can't remember the exact name of his best rc, but the one I know of that is quite a bit of money is the Rookies and Stars auto from 2002, I think it's currently like $35. The 2002 authentic autographs is also about the same price also from 2002.

Yeah those are two nice cards. I have seen like two different cards from 2001 of Billy on ebay. I just can't remember what brands they are. I think the 2002 cards are rc's and the 2001 cards are xrc's?

Yeah, I've picked up a few over the last two/three weeks, and they're absolutely fantastic looking in person. Pretty cool concept.

And $66 for that Gywnn 'G' is just absurd.

okay, I didn't even know about these "By the Letter" cards. Of course, I haven't really looked at buying cards for a while and since there is no card shop in town, I'm stuck with whatever Walmart or Kmart puts out on their shelves.

Of course, if I did have a card shop in town, I'd be broke. Or living in a cardboard house of commons. Probably both.
