I suppose I am cheering for the Preds now since Milwaukee is the their team in the AHL.

Well the Blues did exactly what they didn't do against the Wild last night. Brutal second period and Allen made a big mistake on the winner. Hopefully they'll turn it around or it'll be a short series.

FYI 2017 IIHF World Championships are going on right now. USA-Sweden is on NHL network as I write this. USA fielding a young team but has some talented guys. I think they have theee or four more games in the preliminary round.

Preds!!!!!

Blues outplayed pretty much all series. Preds fans, while enthusiastic, might become the new annoying fan base. Their production from their defensemen has been second to none.

And Ryan Johansen is out for the rest of the playoffs dashing pretty much any chance of the Preds advancing.

Despite this AND no Mike Fisher also due to injury, bigtime win tonight at Anaheim to go up 3-2 in the series. Helped that the Ducks had to deal with a couple injury issues of their own. Admirals star Aberg with the game winner.

One win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. Hopefully they can close things out Monday night in Nashville.

Pekka stops 38 shots! Former Admirals score all six goals. Preds punch their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals. What a night.

Frustrating. Too bad it couldn't have been a fair-and-square loss. Instead, an official's mistake disallows a Preds goal, blowing the game and giving Pitt the cup in game 6. After the highly questionable overturn of the series' first goal -- with the slimmest of evidence -- that would have given the Preds a huge momentum burst out of the gate in game 1, it makes you wonder.

There is no justice in sports, sometimes.

Interesting that it was Hornquist with the tying goal ... oops, go-ahead goal.

IMO the better team won. Crosby gets a lot of flak but all he does is win.

I agree, but it is frustrating watching a goal get disallowed.

I'm still waiting for the league to hold Crosby accountable for his questionable antics. He chopped off one guys finger, stabs another in the groin, and then shoves a guys head into the ice and the league stuffs it under the rug. (I realize all of those things didn't happen in the playoffs).

Bumping this thread as Wisconsin hockey now starts in less than a week. I have yet to find a schedule that includes any kind of television schedule.

I think missing the tournament this year would be a disappointment. Maybe last season raised the bar too quick and they have to replace Kunin up front, but its hard to imagine them not having some improvement between the pipes with Hayton and on the blueline. Interesting recruiting class with 4 forwards all 5’9” or shorter. I know the fact that commits happen earlier now limited who was available once Granato took over, but not what I typically think of with Wisconsin hockey.

Wisconsin swept weekend games at Boston College and Merrimack this weekend. Still not sure how good this team is but they’re certainly off to a good start. It’s nice to see Wisconsin hockey winning some games again.

I went to the game against Ohio State where they lost 3-2. The defense looked lost, but with as much talent as they brought in I expect them to get that shored up quickly. Hayton didn't look great, but did make one amazing save. I think they'll be in a similar position as last year but perhaps just on the other side of the cut.

Ironically, I did this for consistency before I even saw your post. :laughing

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Well thank you either way. :)

I didn't have a means to watch Saturday's game but 5 goals on 12 shots seems like it was a bit fluky. Still will hurt if they end up on the bubble come spring, but I don’t know that it is concerning in the long run. Hopefully as the 3 freshmen defensemen mature and Greenway gets back, they can hit their stride in the second half.

On a loosely related note, Stevens Point native (and recent Buckeye decommit) Cole Caufield already has 13 goals in just 9 games with the US National U17 team playing primarily older USHL competition. Wisconsin recruiting is pretty booked, but you'd think they can find room for him.

A guy I play hockey with on Sunday nights went to the game Saturday. He has a friend who plays for Saint Lawrence, and he said the goals were all pretty good goals. I still think it's pathetic.
