First 20 minutes observations. D zone coverage looked better than last year. I think I only saw 1 solid opportunity for ND. Badgers look much faster than ND. ND did not have s strong period.

Agreed. Sometimes just listening to the sounds of the game is nice. Not to mention a lot of what they are 'adding' is dumb. 'Do you think coaches will choose to take the faceoff on the side they think they can win?' Na, o zone wins arent wanted.

They have been, but tonight is 27 - 31 which is about 50 50 since they have lost 4 extra draws. ND does have one stud drawman.

Frustrating game for sure. I think Michigan is one of the top 4 or 5 teams in the country, so the 3v3 loss is hardly anything to hang the hat on. The lack of chances tonight is concerning. Game 1 had 3 defensive zone breakdowns that led to 3 goals. D zone coverage has looked much better than last year in 3 of the 4 games. That is a really good Michigan team and a really strong goalie in Mann. Also have to remember they were missing Holloway for the weekend and out Pelton Byce tonight. Both guys would have seen the ice in 3v3.

I'm just frustrated as i lived through golden years were Bucky was a real brand name in college hockey. It's been so long now that UW hockey is basically irrelevant and half of fans from the golden years are now on social security.

 

Sadly i don't see the improvement that a coach in his 5th year with the resources at his disposal should have.

In my eyes he is a good person and a decent recruiter but a poor coach.

I believe it was nearly two to one in SOG over the series in PSU’s favor.

At one point in game 1 it was 44-9. And the Badgers were up like 3-1. PSUs goalies were pretty bad this weekend. My buddy joked that he was going to grab his gear and wait outside their bus - he has 4 years of eligibility left.

 

The Badgers got the bounces this week and found some open ice - but they looked flat on Monday and were lucky to win. Last night I thought they dominated(obviously) outside of a 5 minute stretch in the 3rd where a few guys were coasting up 6-1.

 

And yes, PSU has given the Badgers trouble since like year 2 in the league. So frustrating. I really wish they could have salvaged a tie against Michigan in game 2(Weissbach turning into a pylon after a 2 plus minute shift in 3v3 was frustrating). 4-1-1 looks much nicer than 4-2.

Getting out shot by Arizona state two to one in the first but have managed to get two goals on five shots. Defense looks a lot like last year with a whole lot of spectator defense
