Why isn't Keon running? You have to be pushing the envelope here.

No...you don't. He runs and gets thrown out and suddenly Thames gets the bat taken out of his hands. One hit and Braun gets and at bat. Know the situation.

Hughes...yuck.

Never confident when he is on the bump.

I just said it before the inning because I got called out saying something in retrospect...even though I think he is junk.

Good situation to send Broxton . ..

Not really. If he gets thrown out we have arcia, pinch hitter, and villar...

And if he makes it the tying run is in scoring position. Waiting for runs to happen on their own hasn't worked well for us lately. Molina is good, but not as elite as he once was throwing out runners.

A pitcher that typically throws fastballs and a catcher who can throw runners out...no thanks.

You've also got a runner in Broxton who is over 80% successful in steals for his career. Works both ways.

And Rosenthal isn't quick to the plate. I agree that I don't want Arcia leading off the 9th, but you have to get a runner in scoring position if at all possible.

At least get Braun to the plate. Give ourselves a swing at it.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Literally about the exact type of AB I expected from Perez in that situation. Take 2 big hacks, pop the second one up about 15 feet.

Perez' batting average and OBP are products of pitchers throwing him very hittable balls. Make him chase and he gets himself out.

And exactly the expected AB expected from Villar . ..

Until he quiets the swing, he and Arcia will never be very good at hitting a baseball. Unnecessary movement all over the place. Frustrating.

Shocking approach by Perez and Villar. They shouldn't be in there unless by necessity - one of those turds has to be at 2B vs a lefty

9th inning saves are literally a guarantee against the Brewers. Still 0fer on the year trailing after 8. The reputation they have for always fighting and grinding til the end is kind of silly.
