So are we going to do this bullpen day every 5 days until season end? 2-3 more times? I guess it's going ok so far...but I don't like it.

If you have a better idea, feel free to share :)

They should have to do it twice more this season, once against the Pirates and once against the Cardinals.

Don't make the last out at 3rd base.

[sarcasm]its ok, the out was made at second.[/sarcasm]

I think i heard wilkerson is starting wednesday. I dont get why he wouldnt have just started today or even pitched today. At this point i doubt hes getting in except incase of extras. Probably get some combo of hughes, hader, swarzak, and knebel to finish it off.

Remember what Yoda said:

Rockies up 4-0 already. We needs some runs!

I definitely don't...

But as much as I dislike Garza (can't believe I'm going here...), he does occasionally have a decent start. Though admittedly, not lately. But it feels more likely he goes out and is decent and we don't have to pinch hit every other inning than that 7-9 different guys all pitch well. Why not at least trot him out there first, and at the first sign of trouble be ready to pull him quick. And if there is no trouble, then bonus!

I mean, we let Guerra pitch in a tie game, and he's been worse than Garza.

Patiently waiting for a Braun hot streak but has a feeling as though he'll finish the season with an OPS in the .700's which most likely will leave the Brewers out of a playoff spot.

It's a shame too, very similar year for him that he had in 2014. Why couldn't we get the 2015 or 2016 Ryan Braun this year?

Last 28 days: .565 OPS. Just.... ugh.

A .900 OPS from Braun isn't going to magically make the rest of the lineup hit better. The offensive collapse is far from one person's fault.

As Braun goes, so goes the rest of the offense it's always seemed.

In no way do I think it is one persons fault and I won't get into the trickle down debate but having a .900+ Braun in the 3-hole does wonders for any lineup.

He played a total of 9 games in May and June when they were crushing the ball.

Hader with a spectacular inning. I'll be interested to see his second inning of work to see if he pops the mit the same.

Good point. Maybe historically??

Wow it just occurred to me that the brewers may be using a new pitching strategy for September on purpose. Utilize the 40 man roster to include as many MLB ready pitchers as possible. Use the added staff, rather

than relying on back end starters for 5+ Innings (Garza, Suter, etc). just go to bullpen committee to get through games. There is no need to have the pitcher bat in this situation, so that also gives an offensive advantage. Anytime someone is struggling just pull them.

I thought that was quite obvious.

In no way is the slump all Braun's fault but he's been a big part of it. This is the time of the year you'd hope for a guy like that to be carrying you and unfortunately it's been the opposite.

We just don't have any star power in this lineup anymore like we did 6 or 7 years ago. It's been a big contributor to this slump.
