I think he could be a good bounce back candidate. Can't see him earning more than what Chacin got. Maybe a year and an option. Add him as a depth move and grab the higher quality arm latter.

I look at him as a minor league deal guy, or a last resort type option if we strike out on the bigger names. I don't know that Garcia is better than Woodruff at this point...and he likely won't be 2 years from now. Not that we'd sign him to a 2 year deal, moreso that Woodruff getting experience at the mlb level now benefits him more 2 years from now than more AAA innings.

Can someone explain to me how Jaime Garcia is chopped liver while Lance Lynn and Alex Cobb are seeking huge deals? I would much rather have Jaime Garcia even on equal contract terms. He was fantastic before his injuries, and since he's been back he's been fine.

Considering the acquisition cost of Cobb or Lynn I see him as a superior value. I guess I'm with u and don't see how those two are that much better to sink a draft pick plus an additional 40 million.

Bump. I'd be fine with this. Watch Garcia, Woodruff, and Chacin be significantly better than Hendricks, Lester, and Chatwood.
