Minor League Pitchers

If the starter continue their poor performance, who are the next pitchers to come up? I believe all starters, other than Chacin, have options. I'd think Suter is on thin ice and Davies and Guerra are not far behind.

 

1. Woodruff

2. Burnes

3. Miley

4. Peralta

5. Derby

 

Would Medrios(bull pen) or Ortiz get a fast track? It will s nice to have options!

I have a hard time believing that Davies would be sent down. Also, Guerra has pitched well in his 3 starts. Why talk about demoting him? Suter I could get on board with though.

Zach Davies just scattered 3 hits and no runs across 6 1/3 innings, and Guerra has given up 1 earned run in three starts!

Guerra has had trouble going past 5 innings, but those first 5 have been outstanding. Chacin has been better the last 2 starts, and Davies has had 2 good and 2 terrible starts. Only Suter is a candidate for some sort of demotion at this point, and that might happen when Miley's ready.

Medrios is awesome, he would be the perfect solution to this bad rotation that just won six games in a row.

 

Sorry for the snark, it's just an odd question to ask when the starters have been performing well the last couple weeks, other than Suter's last start. Plus, there's already an ongoing thread devoted to starting pitching.

Davies isn't going anywhere. He's a pretty proven solid starter. It would take a month of disastrous starts to even be thinking of ditching him.

 

I don't think the idea that Medeiros could be fast tracked and help the pen out in September is crazy at all though. He has to be added to the 40 after the season anyway.

Guerra? Why, he has been great!

 

Only Suter has a chance of being replaced as of now, imo.
