If Domingo starts getting hot (and it looks like he has been) I think you need to put him up around #2 in the order. His .458 OBP over the last 7 games is wasted with Villar, Pina, and Arcia hitting behind him.

Not a terrible idea on a day Cain or Yelich sit out, but our top 4 are pretty much locked into their spots when healthy and playing...hard to justify replacing one of them with Santana.

They let good early pitches right down the middle go by and end up swinging at crap outside the zone. Not a very aggressive offense...

It's not about being too passive - I think in general alot of Brewer hitters aren't good at identifying pitches to hit and being selectively aggressive with them given game situations. Basically their approaches are terrible and they seem to be guessing alot at the plate.

I am not worried about the bullpen. Sure, stay away from Hader, Jeffress and Suter today but they have a 9 man bullpen right now, they can get through the game. Williams/Alber/Lopez/Barnes could all use work and they may want to pitch Knebel as well.

Right, I forgot about him. Also Logan is getting activated Thursday or Friday and will be fresh. Bullpen is fine.

Now that Guerra got through 5IP, I agree...when I made that post about Perez possibly pitching he just gave up 4 runs with no outs in the 4th and Guerra getting at least 6 more outs seemed pretty far-fetched.

This offense is straight up putrid right now. I predict Darnell Coles is gone within the week. Someone is going to have to fall on the sword to light a fire under these guys, and it is more than likely going to be Coles.

I still believe in this offense but it is getting tougher and tougher.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

But YELICH!!!!! and CAIN!!!!!

On the bright side, I would rather have them start the season cold and end hot, as opposed to starting hot and ending cold like last year...

I just think you would want to be swinging early against a guy like Carasco who has a wipe out breaking ball. Why even let yourself get to two strikes with that pitch looming. I would be sitting fastball and swinging at the first one I get.

I had so much hope for Brett Phillips. He is so young and talented. But he looks so overmatched at the ML level. The approach most of these hitters take is horrid.

It's like the young guys become completely different hitters after leaving Colorado Springs, and vets forget everything they've done playing for other organizations. "We're Brewers! Swing for the fences or bust!"

You can have a philosophy but if you don't coach to that philosophy, or find players that fit that philosophy, then you get the putrid swing for the fence (or should just say swing and miss) offense that we have been seeing. There is a disconnect somewhere in the organization.
