Honestly I know it doesn't make sense on the surface, but I would have almost batted Eric Thames anyway. Rosario isn't throwing strikes and Thames has a good eye. Thames also has that just got back magic one can dream on.

I think I take Thames there as well.

So at this point any sort of must win to prove they can beat the other team and aren't afraid of them style narrative is out the window for this game. One team is going to win a game that could have easily gone either way and the other team is going to lose and neither are really going to prove anything by it.

Welp, that was an anticlimactic 9th, now we get the meat of the Cubs order again. Yay.

Yea, don't like the chances of the Brewers getting through this inning without the Cubs scoring..

Tough thing for this game is no Hader for rest of this series......Corey probably can't pitch tomorrow....and now have to use JJ too....

Chatwood walks a guy an inning , won’t need a pen tomorrow ...

Is it me or did Pina just swing at about four balls?? I just don't understand the plate discipline this team lacks. How can you win games when you refuse to make them throw strikes.

Quit yapping Almora. I appreciate an ump that can still make the right call just because the catcher doesn't catch it where he spotted it.

Cubs have same situation with their pen too. Plus, wouldn't surprise me if Hader and/or Knebel are still available tomorrow.

Which could still get into their heads regardless, when you're losing to one team at a 90% clip (if they lose).

I'm with you FV, they aren't done for the series.

Knebel could still be available. Don't see it for Hader. He also threw an inning on Saturday. Don't see them pitching him 3 out of 4 days.

No way Hader is available. 38 pitches. He is done for the series.

Done for tomorrow I agree with, no way he's not available on Wednesday if needed.

Brewers' plan all along - drain the Cub pen and let them wilt away after their 1 remaining offday between now and July 2nd following the Brewer series...all they need is to have the first two games of their series with the Cards go 15 innings each...

Corey could pitch possibly......probably not until weds but maybe tomorrow......Hader is getting 2 days off.......CC has been consistent on how he uses him after 30-40 pitches.
