That brutal ball 4 call changed that entire at bat. Happens in our favor too....

 

The announcers cannot let it go. It was a ball, but Diaz brought it on himself. He chucked the bat and headed to first. If it's at all close the ump calls it a strike when the player does that. It's stupid egotistical nonsense, but that's what they do. He should've known better.

 

I hate it when a Brewer makes that mistake.

That was bad on the ump in every way. Good for the brewers. Changed that inning

 

Like I say, it's dumb and egotistical of the umpires, but you see it all the time. When the pitch is somewhat close and would be ball 4, if the batter busts out of the box before being awarded first base, the ump usually rules a strike. And of course the call is always late because the ump bases the call off of what the batter did after the pitch.
