ESPN has a an article with offseason predictions for each team, brewers were predicted to sign Tommy LaStella, resign Braun, and trade for Josh Bell.

 

I think that is a good offseason, the question I have is what do they have to do to get Josh Bell

 

Ray and Turang? I know he had a down year this season, but he could stabilize the position if he gets back on track. I would be surprised the bucs move him. especially in division.

Would love the move... But Pirates will never trade Bell to us, not gonna happen.

Bell was stinky, I mean a total mess this past season...His value is probably at it's lowest right this minute.

He's had essentially one good half in four seasons, I wouldn't give up anything of value for him. Maybe something like the Narvaez deal from last year would be as high as I'd be willing to go.

Extend and trade? Think he fits Pittsburgh price range well and a 4year ext with 2 option years sounds about right. For his production, he's within his prime, and most certainly capable to have big productive seasons. Add the DH to NL and his negative defense is neutralized.

You will need to blow them away if extending is on the table.

I was inferring to the Pirates extending and keeping him. They can use his bat at DH making him more valuable.

Bell is basically the same crap we've been running out at 1B for the past decade, only a little younger. If he were a FA coming in on a minimum or minors deal, sure, whatever. But no way do I trade anyone for him.

Earlier in the year I said the Pirates would be lucky to get a top 100 prospect for Bell and it is still true today. I believe Bell's value has actually dropped even more since January and I think his top value right now is a Corey Ray type of a prospect or even lower. A Ward for Bell trade maybe the top of the offers that the Pirates would receive for Bell.
