LeBron’s Son’s Games

Every once in a while a highlight is shown of LeBron watching his son’s games, whether it being HS or AAU. I shudder almost every time because of various things LeBron does, usually taking focus from the actual game. If he was the actual coach of the game, I can see the things he does in a totally different light. But he is simply a parent watching his son’s game and he is walking out on the floor, causing stoppages of play, and really actively and vocally coaching his son. Now, to complicate this further, the son’s team is often playing in the gym bought and named after LeBron.

I am curious how brewer fan.netters would view this. Like I said previously, I shudder when a glimpse of his son’s games are shown. From a coach’s perspective, his over the top antics would get old quickly. I’m also guessing that Bronny is ok when his dad is absent from some of his games.

I don’t blame him for going after the PA announcer. That’s some bull crap to say during a game. Overall, he’s in a no win situation in just about any action or non-action he ever takes. Cool to see him take a huge interest into his sons life though. Glad to see it.
"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

There is absolutely nothing appropriate or acceptable about yelling across the gym at a HS basketball game because of the PA announcer….and then approaching the PA announcer to argue. Especially while the game is going on and you make play stop. Should the PA announcer be making such comments? No, but LeBron’s reaction was brutal. I can’t even imagine trying to the a ref, coach, floor mopper at that place with LeBron around.

As far as his other over the top stuff…meh, I guess it isn’t the first time I’ve seen it in youth sports. Probably should stay off the court, but hey, that’s what being famous and having the gym named after you gets you.

LeBron is easily one of the 5 best basketball players in the history of the sport.

As with many other people who are savants at a particular activity/skill/topic, once they are seen in a setting where their best skillset doesn't benefit them, it becomes very apparent that they are far from experts in everything.

I often wonder… who cares? It shouldn’t even be in the media nor should anyone really give a crap.

I think you just love drama and love creating it. I wouldn't be surprised if your favorite sport shows or at least the ones you watch have either skip bayless or stephen a smith on them. If they have both you are probably in your glory with all the drama that they create.

This is a fan forum on different sports issues. Lebron has been in the news for the aforementioned. Is it off limits to debate, discuss? I’m discussing my point of view…. not the one getting personal. If it isn’t your kind of topic to discuss, don’t. I don’t think I’m out of bounds here.

Let's give some context. In the 2nd video, the PA announcer literally announces that the kid is getting calls because the gym is named after his dad. I know it's just a HS basketball game, but that's brutally unprofessional behavior. I'd be pissed if I was a parent too. The kid already has a heavy legacy to live up to without the PA saying he's getting calls because his dad is Lebron James.

The 3rd video didn't look like much other than James flexing when his kid dunked and the crowd cheering when Lebron was dunking during halftime/break in the action. The first video is like a half hour long, so I'm honestly not going to waste my time.

Context would be the fact these schools probably take athletics (and have more talent) than any typical HS would. Usually creates a clown show when it comes to player celebration, showboating, parents, etc. Heck, even my small town had a LeBron type dad who hyped their kid up way too much and almost wanted to be the center of attention.

As far as “who cares?”…idk, I really don’t. That being said LeBron shoves his opinion about every detail of life down people’s throats whether they want it or not so I don’t care if people want to put him on blast for anything he does.

Michael Jordan is lucky he played in the 90s, he would be the most hated athlete on the planet in the social media era.

I find it odd there are national news articles written about high school athletes, but I still click on them. I guess I’m part of the problem. If a child of a famous athlete is outperforming or underperforming their parent, I want to know about it.
