It Is Time To Wrap Up This Division!

If the Brewers end up playing the Cardinals in the playoffs a lot of things went right for the Brewers, it would be awesome if they played each other in the playoffs.

A cards/dodgers wildcard game would be annoying. I would be simultaneously rooting for both to lose.

Let’s not forget, the Cards appears to have a gift-wrapped trip to the World Series in 2019 after drawing the Nationals in the NLCS. That ended up being one of the easiest 4-game sweeps that I can remember in MLB.

And also, both the Cards and Nationals had thousands of empty seats in their NLDS games that year.

Team isn’t firing on all cylinders for sure. But we are 5-5 in our last 10. So we aren’t nose diving. In pretty much every game. I’ll take the odds our bats get hot going into playoffs and we take off!

People are getting way too invested in how a team is playing on September 22nd. Our first postseason game is October 8th, no team right now is on their way to the postseason hot/cold. Any team has a good two weeks of games to make their hot/cold streak look drastically different. There is basically an All Star break between the end of the season and our first game. We went into the all star break looking like garbage and came out sweeping a team and have a strong end to the month.

We are playing garbage baseball when we have nearly nothing to play for. The division is sealed and the #2 seed is sealed. Sucking in mid-September is whatever. All I care is the team gets healthy and pitchers don't start looking like they are running out of gas.

Amen....I'd much rather have the offense scuffling right now and appear to be busting out of it in two weeks than having them riding a hot streak now only to slump in early October. In a perfect world there would be no slumps, but reality is there are, and what is happening offensively for the Brewers right now has no impact on how they will hit or not hit weeks from now in games that truly do matter.

I'm kind of glad the Cards are peaking now. Too much time between now and the playoffs, hopefully they get it out of their systems now, then flop right out of the playoffs...

If this wasn't happening against the Cards I doubt many people would be concerned. I hate that they've allowed them to basically clinch the 2nd wild card and stay hot. That team was dead a couple weeks ago and now they're looking like the hottest team in baseball heading in to the playoffs.
