Scratch that. A run at 7-1. The DSL Brewers 1 lost a nail biter 7-6. DSL Brewers 2 won 6-0 on the heels of another Jeral Vizcaino shutdown performance. He’s been killing it lately!

RHP Justin Jarvis leads the Timber Rattlers as they look to make it a 3-0 series lead in Quad Cities - I believe the T-Rats now own an 18-4 mark on the season versus the River Bandits.. Can Zavier Warren maintain his post-trade deadline torrid pace? Stay tuned!

We’ve been highlighting his play the entire Month of July and now LHP Nick Bennett is recognized for his stellar play. Congratulations are in order!

OF Luis Castillo looks to build on a 3-for-4 evening with his first Low-A home run. RHP Edwin Jimenez looks to give the Mudcats a 2-1 home series edge and an 8-7 season series lead on the wily Cannonballers.

We see OF Joey Wiemer is the first of the dynamic Biloxi trio to get a night's rest. OF Sal Frelick will lead-off again with OF Esteury Ruiz protecting him in the second spot of the batting order. RHP Dylan File will look to continue the Sounds' road success in Norfolk. This is must watch Minor League baseball.

how about giving Singleton or White days off to get the 4 OFs into the lineup?

Given Wiemer, in particular, was dealing with (and may still be dealing with?) that weird hand thing after that awkward swing versus Montgomery, I'm completely fine giving both Singleton and Tyler White continued reps. They've both been uber-available and remain dangerous parts of Nashville's line-up. My two cents.

Well, just like that, Jesus Chirinos just smacked a 437'/107 mph blast over the massive wall in CF in Five County Stadium. I am fairly certain the only other Brewer prospect I've seen hit a ball like that is ol' Monte Harrison. Absolutely crushed his 7th HR of the season. Mudcats jump ahead 2-0.

OF Edquarqui Fernandez follows that up with a well-hit single to center after Eduardo Garcia beat out an infield hit. Men on first and second base with only one down.

I wonder how many bench bats Manager Ayrault actually has. They're down to 12 position players on the roster - but Clarke hasn't played since Saturday, Murray left Tuesday's game early and McGee also left Tuesday's game early.

We have a Corey Ray sighting in CF for Biloxi. Let's see if Ray can keep up his second half where he's been considerably effective. Can Felix Valerio start hitting again? It's as if he's 'disappeared' of late - we all know he has the talent to turn it around. Lutz and Whitley will round out the outfield as the Shuckers look to support LHP Brandon Knarr and build off their double-header sweep last night.

Coming off of last night's fantastic outing, OF Luis Castillo lined out deep to the warning track in left field and just smacked a 108 mph line drive for a single into right field. AND, just like that, OF Jesus Chirinos just smashed his second HR to deep center. 435 feet the distance and 107 mph off the bat. AND, it's 5-0 Mudcats. Man, those are some epic blasts for Chirinos. Yowza.

AND, just like that 1B Jon Singleton just smashed his 16th double knocking in two of three base runners here in the top of the 1st inning. Pablo Reyes then hits a loop pop fly to right field and Brice Turang aggressively tags - the throw was strong and in time, BUT, Turang slid into the catcher's glove and knocked the ball out to the back stop. It's 3-0 Sounds and Mitchell is at the dish. Singleton stays red hot.

Garrett Mitchell hits a smooth and easy oppo looping line drive to left field. It falls to the grass and Singleton fakes the round from third base. The throw gets by the catcher and the dangerous Mitchell swipes second base. Folks, this Sounds team has become incredibly dangerous. And they were already really good prior to the promotions. Men on second and third base with a mere single out.

Welp, Joe Gray Jr. led off the top of the first with a solo shot (his 13th of the year). AND, not to be forgotten, Zavier Warren followed with his 3rd HR in two games. My goodness. That's now 2 3B, 1 2B, and 3 HR in 3 Games since the Deadline. Ummmmmm, yeah.

Here's a taste of the Chirinos home run blasts. It is NOT easy or common to hit a home run over deep center - let alone two in one game. Heck of a night:

And, well, Sal Frelick just smashed a double deep off the wall in right field. That's SIX HITS in 3 games in Norfolk for Frelick. My goodness!

Man, Garrett Mitchell just continues to impress. After a rope extremely well-hit ball smacks off the wall in deep right knocking in two for Norfolk, he collects it on the hop and throws a dart to second base as Brice Turang grabs the runner and gets the Sounds out of the inning. He is just playing such good good baseball right now. A true pleasure to watch.

Justin Jarvis was pulled in the first inning after throwing 36 pitches and experiencing a month’s worth of bad luck.

He induced 4 infield grounders, struck out a batter and issued 2 walks. That’s it. Two runs, neither earned.

Being pressed into sudden action did not go well for Joey Matulovich, who then gave up 6 runs (5 earned).

Timber Rattlers trail 8-2 in the 4th inning.

Zavier Warren hits another double helping the T-Rats plate 3 in the top of the fifth. Creeping back and it’s 8-5 Quad Cities now.

Good stuff in Carolina as RHP Edwin Jimenez strikes out 10 in 5 IP and LHP Leoni De La Cruz pitches 2 scoreless innings in his Low-A debut. The Mudcats win 7-4.
