Oh hey! It's a Yeison Perez triple - his 3rd of the year. Perez is now doubling, tripling, homering or walking in 28.7% of his 122 AB's.

0.345 BA with a 1.114 OPS. Whewwwwww baby. Coming into this game he was strutting a 0.343 ISO.

Is that Carlos F Rodriguez I see listed as Wisconsin starter? I hadn't seen news of his promotion but it seems to be well deserved.

Indeed it is. He was promoted last week - he and reliever RHP Ryan Middendorf. Around that same time, ACL Brewers arms, RHP Alexander Vallecillo and LHP Leoni De La Cruz were promoted to Low-A Carolina filling their roster spots. All four of these young men have been fantastic in 2022.

And, you'll see Vallecillo will be on the Hill tonight for the Mudcats. I'm excited to see how he fares in his promotional debut - he was pretty dang fantastic in the ACL.

Another double for Yeison Perez. 3-for-3, all extra base hits. The man has forced the issue.

From the first week, he's been incredible. This is an extremely exciting season!

I put him 12th on my list of prospects. I might be more sanguine on his chances than many.

Frelick and Turang with singles in the top of the 1st, but no runs.

Frelick is making a case he should replace Davis immediately.

Frelick hit better in AA than in A+, and now is hitting better in AAA than he was in AA. We must promote him so he can start his HOF career by hitting even better in the majors.  ?

Vallecillo did not have a great debut in Low-A, walking the first 3 hitters of the game, then giving up 3 straight hits. At least he K’d one batter before being lifted after 38 pitches. Mudcats trail 7-2 in the 3rd inning.

Meanwhile, Monasterio got Biloxi off to a good start with a solo homer in the 1st. 1-0 Biloxi, very early.

Chourio doubled in the top of the 1st inning, but they couldn’t bring him home.

Carlos F. Rodriguez and Alex Hall basically played catch in the bottom half: 3 walks, 3 strikeouts. No score after one between Wisconsin and Quad Cities.

Calling it - Frelick will be the 2023 NL ROY.  IF he doesn't force a call-up really soon and lose eligibility.

The Mudcats are chipping away nicely. Once down 7-0. Now it’s 7-5 going into the 5th inning. Areinamo with 2 hits. Raabe and Vargas with 2 RBIs each.

Nashville grabbed the lead 2-1 with 3 hits and a walk in the top of the 4th inning, but Lindblom’s struggles continue (3 runs on 2 homers in the bottom half). They’re down 4-2 in the 5th inning now. Frelick and Turang with 2 hits each. Jackson and Wilson have the RBIs.

Darrien Miller hit his first homer since July 1, a 2-run shot in the top of the 5th inning to extend Wisconsin’s lead to 4-0. Hall and Cipion had RBI singles the previous inning.

But CF Rodriguez exits after 4 scoreless innings (73 pitches) and Quad Cities then grabbed a run back off Middendorf. 4-1 Timber Rattlers.
