Obviously, the 3-batter relief rule is designed to increase the probability of a high-scoring late inning (along with supposedly speeding up the game, but that runs counter to the first point in my opinion).

But with a 14-man pitching staff and a starter which just threw 7 innings, was there any logical reason for allowing Perdomo to pitch to a 4th batter? Isn't the manager supposed to be relieved to finally get through 3 rough at-bats and make the switch?

I wasn't able to watch it but I think they said the damage was done in a span of eight pitches, so they didn't really have time to get anyone up that quickly I guess.

Why? It’s not Counsell who hangs sliders over the middle of the plate, nor is he hitting .220.

The team is right in the middle of playing 18 games in 17 days with no off days. What do you want the manager to do? He threw his freshest bullpen arm when leading 6-1. Sound strategy, the players just didn’t perform. 

The ‘23 Brewers have a talent gap compared to the likely playoff teams and Milwaukee has had several players underperform to boot. That has nothing to do with Counsell and is almost exclusively the GM’s  miscalculation.

While It’s certainly not all on him, Counsell has had a brutal year.  Almost nothing he has done has worked out.   However, there’s no chance I fire him though.

Perdomo is, unfortunately, the guy to  blame for this miserable and shocking loss; it's not CC.
