If the Brewers home field was Coors Field they’d hit a thousand home runs

They're definitely a lot more fun to watch at this ballpark.

Anyone know what the longest winning streak they have had this year so far?

Longest since the break?

Since the break...four games (7/26-7/30). On the season...five games (4/26-4/30).

Seems like we are due then.

Even bad teams seem to string together 6 or 7 at some point.

Lewis Brinson just hit his 3rd homer in 2 days for the Giants….

Trade just keeps getting worse for the Marlins. What a kick in the nuts that would be.

He's had less than a week's worth of AB's for the Giants, and he's 28. If he figures it out all of a sudden, good for him, but after 1000 plate appearances of less than .600 OPS, it was time for the Marlins to cut bait with the guy.

Yeah. Why I said "would". Some guys take longer to develop and adjust to the major leagues than others.

Reading this thread (and recent threads) one would think Mitchell has 1000 plate appearances of poor production as well. Huh. Sample sizes mean something??

Oh, I have a lot of hope for Mitchell for sure. Just believe that Frelick is a more advanced hitter and better positioned to help the club right now.

Maybe. I doubt it. But, maybe. It certainly could happen. Mitchell is the more complete player. Every one of the OF'ers simply needs time and exposure. Garrett is a better base runner, better athlete, more power, better athlete. Frelick is a better lead-off hitter. I don't know what the brass is after. Clearly they like Yelich in lead-off. Hence, Mitchell is up. My main point is: he has no data. This all needs time. Over-reacting to 20 some AB's with his tool set is a wee absurd. BUT, I get it. Game threads and all.

Avi Garcia has 7 hr and a 564 ops. Wow I am shocked he's been that bad. Give Stearns credit for that decision.

Stearns is good at his job.   Despite what people think.   I don’t blame him for this year.    The players just didn’t perform.   It’s on them

All good points. I guess I just look at the 16 walks and 9 strikeouts Frelick has in AAA to go with a .366/.454/.455 batting line and see a perfect hitter for the #9 slot in this offense. And Frelick is no slouch in the field or on the bases either. Either way, I expect both players to be key contributors for us going forward.

All good. We all want every one of these studs to be great. Frelick has been great, no doubt about it. What was interesting was in a recent interview just after Mitchell's promotion, manager Rick Sweet confided to Sounds radio and play-by-play announcer, Jeff Hem, he had to stay up a good 1.5-2 hours to chat with one of his players in their hotel lobby after Mitchell was called up. He didn't name the player. I'm going to guess it was Esteury Ruiz. He plays with a fairly big chip on his shoulder.
