This was the most fitting way to end the season.

Burnes 5 Ks in 3 IP

only 2 runs scored

Pen blows a slim lead

Which 20 games are you referring to?

So relievers for next year we have Devin Williams.... check.........and......thinking.......thinking......looking at stats......throwing up my dinner.......thinking....... nope got nothing.

Milner and Boxberger aren't horrible, but they just aren't very good. So assuming those 3 that leaves us 3 short (closer and 2 setup men).  I can see Cousins getting a long look, but he has to have a season where he's mostly healthy before he's a given.  Bush?  Hope for a bounceback or is he always going to by a wild HR machine? Lots of back end of the bullpen candidates and few 7th/8th inning/closer options.  Stearns needs to get some high level RP this offseason.  Enough so that we don't ever go to the trade deadline needing to upgrade the BP because that is clearly a Stearns blind-spot.

Williams, Cousins, Strzelecki, Boxberger, Milner, Bush, and a LHP from the FA market/trade market. I think we could upgrade on Boxberger for a younger more upside high leverage guy.

What about Rosenthal? What's his contract situation?

One last bullpen blown save to finish the season. How fitting.

Let's put the barrel on every strike from Merrill ...

Let our currently reigning Cy be The Guy to stick it in their eye!

Bye, bye '22!  Was wonderful being with you!

Just out of curiosity. Do you purposely try to be as annoying as you can? Or can you just not help yourself?

Watch Burnes blow out his elbow from end of season fatigue. Out all 2023 and then put up a 5 ERA in 2024.

because, Brewers

That would be so Pete Vuckovich. From Cy Young to out of the game, although Burnes is a much better pitcher than Vuke could have every hoped to be.

Pretty poetic ending to a dreadful season … another blown save by the bullpen

What a nightmare … so glad this season ends today

I’d love to have back every hour I spent watching this team in 2022

I pity you. I think I watched like 5 games. Probably the least baseball I have watched in 20+ years.

The lockout turned me off and then this disaster of a team did nothing to bring me back.

It was kind of obvious but yeah.  The Yankees lineup doesn't really look like a playoff team if you look at just batting average.

I will never consider 86 wins to be dreadful no matter how angry everyone online wants to be about it.

Is it a crime to rhyme when I root?

No need to slime and whine or pollute.

Give the Brewers a salute!

Any other subject here is moot!

I think the Brewers do very well given their payroll with respect to the other teams that made the playoffs overall ... the Rays and Guardians are about the only exceptions as far as that goes.

Disappointed but NOT Devastated!

I kinda liked the finale taking place on a weekday afternoon as opposed to football Sunday.  I would have attended, if I didn't have class tonight.

Only 12 seasons in team history when we've won more.

Only 12 seasons with more wins in franchise history and you have people saying this season was disgraceful. Crazy.

I mean, it was a missed opportunity. If everything went well, we'd be primed for long playoff run, and possibly the world series. But things didn't go well; in a year when offense was down around MLB, our pitchers didn't get the memo. Some coaching and management decisions didn't help, but it all comes down to performance and the Brewers didn't perform well enough.

Sure but just shows some perspective. It was a disappointing season, but to say it was disgraceful and that people should lose jobs over it shows how far this current FO group and CC have lifted the franchise.
