I am surprised they replaced a coach of the year who won a championship with a rookie head coach. At the end of the day, the only person whose opinion matters is Giannis.

I am glad they rewarded a long-time Asst who has paid his dues under some very highly regarded coaches. The former player and player coach angle is something that carries a different type of respect. Obviously, this is a pretty incredible first opportunity. I will be very curious to see who he brings aboard for the offensive side of things - ie lead assistant - given his best traits are defensive scheming and game planning and Leadership. Regardless, when you have a Giannis you simply have to appease him if you have hopes of getting him to sign another extension - by the looks of it from multiple sources this was Giannis' first choice. This is something we should be absolutely fine with - warts and all he's a mega superstar.
